Quote of the day - Humility

"Humility is the foundation of all the other virtues, hence,
in the soul in which this virtue does not exist, there cannot be any other virtue
except in appearance."

A message from Joe

As you will recall, group member Joe Massey was seriously injured in a workplace accident last month. On Jan. 20, 2010 Joe left the following message for the City Market Bible Study group. Hurry and get well Joe. We are all praying for a speedy recovery and quick rehabilitation. God bless you!

dear guys thanks alot for your thoughts and especially your prayers. Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ is so wonderful. As we all know there are so many surperlatives(sp)!Words like omnipresent, omnipotient, full of grace, full of mercy, loveing, kind, long suffering, able to save, and able to keep who he's saved throughout eternity!

He is so much more....He does so much more!Guys now that thats done"thanking and praiseing our God!Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ" I want to again say THANKS!

Thanks to: Chris(BTW Hows Helen?praying for her!),Tom,Mark,Mario,Gary,Walter(yes Walter I'm useing a cheat sheet:)and Tom.Also to anyone else whos prayed for me in regards to my injury.

The time at the bible is such a blessing. But to have people praying for you is just so awsome! My advice is If you've never accepted Jesus Christ into your heart do so without delay. If you have then get plugged in and stay plugged in.

I'm fortunate enough to have a church home. A great mentor who through him I've visited two other churches and they all have been praying for me too.

The bible says that God inhabits(sp?) the prayers of his saints! So make sure of your salvation, stay connected to Gods people. Then most of all stay plugged into God almighty through his son Jesus Christ. Through prayer, reading his word(the bible),telling other people about him,and by attending a local church!

Did'nt exactly mean to preach but its a carry over from last night.God is doing some really great things where I live.I believe,No I KNOW he actually showed up last night.Seed is beind planted, watered and God "our hope" will give the increase! Also friendships are being reconcilled(sp?).To God be the glory!

Guys by the grace of God I'll give Chris a call later. Thanks family and please keep praying for me.As mentioned there is the physical recovery.I'm praying that I have no problems with workmans comp now or the forseeable future.I'm praying I be able to go back to work one day.I have good attornys so I'm naturally praying for them, they're well geing and the handleing of my case. Finally a favorable decision wether through the courts or settlement. Of course Gods will be done not our own!

Thanks again and be encourged! To GOD be the glory! Amen!

January 20, 1020 Meeting

Our meeting was once again Spirit led as we tackled the controversial Hebrews 6:4-8 passage. Views were shared from the angles of the unpardonable sin to once saved always saved and all points in between. Next Wednesday, we will pick up at Hebrews 6:9. Also, continue to pray for Brother Joe as he recuperates from his horrible accident. He would also welcome phone calls as he is pretty much shut in for most of the time. He can be reached at 491-0671.

Yours in Christ,

Chris Cross

January 6th Meeting

Great meeting last Wed. We covered the first 10 verses of Chapter 5 of Hebrews. This portion of the book focuses on Christ as our high Priest, which would have had great meaning to the Hebrew audience of the book. Next meeting we will take up at verse 11 of Chapter 5, which serves as a lead in to the controversial first 6 verses of Chapter 6. Please join us if you can.
